Gensokyo Radio Live #6 & Other Stuff
LunarSpotlight  2013/02/11

It's that time again where we throw some numbers on the wall and see what sticks! This time, we have numbers from January 2013. In January, we set a new record again for time listened with 1,106 days. This beats the previous record set in November 2012 by 6 days.

In the middle of January, Japan and the US started flip-flopping for 1st and 2nd place in listen time. Japan has held 1st place in the country standings since January 31st, with the US now in 2nd. Russia sits in 3rd, knocking away Canada which has since sunk to 12th place. Other countries to note include France which has risen 11 places since December, as well as Lithuania which has claimed a whopping 40 places since December, now sitting with 30+ days of time listened within the past month. Countries which haven't done so well include South Korea and Thailand which both dropped 8 places, Israel which dropped 11 places, and Germany which dropped 5 places since the start of January.

A couple other things to note. First, I'd like to let those potentially interested in promoting Gensokyo Radio know that we still have more than 100 handouts from last year's promotional campaign. Last year, our presence spanned to places like Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California; Otakuthon in Montreal, Canada; as well as Anime Festival Asia in Jakarta, Indonesia. Currently, we actually plan to do less physical advertising than we did last year, but we still have these handouts sitting around, so if you'd like to help spread the word, please feel free to contact us! Whether you're planning to be somewhere a few months from now or towards the end of the year, we'll send these out on a first-come, first-serve basis, so come on down!

Last but not least, Gensokyo Radio Live #6 will be playing on Friday, February 15th, 2013 at 7pm EST, or Midnight UTC on January 16th. As usual, this will be a two-hour broadcast which features some of the highest rated works within the past month. We will also be releasing our new logo/avatar for display on places like our Steam group, Twitter, TuneIn, and others, in order to get ready for the launch of GSR5 happening less than two weeks after this show! As for the gathering place, the Steam group overwhelmingly dominated the IRC channel as far as where people showed up last time, so we'll officially be meeting in the Steam group's chat room once again.

Hope to see you there! ~
