Over the last two weeks, we’ve implemented a new system that replaces the old auto-ban system, plus we’ve got a bunch of new music on deck. For more details, read on!

First, we have more music being added to the station this week from the following circles:

  • Avenue Room
  • Blossom Nightfall
  • Blue in Brown
  • CHS
  • Datfile Records
  • Galaxian Recordings
  • Kerori Princess
  • Mankindo
  • Medicine Faktory
  • Mondorium
  • Nakarin
  • Sinarfa

Many of the artists and works hitting the rotation have been featured in previous Live broadcasts, and if you’ve missed out on shows from the past year, we’ll also be starting to add 2-3 episodes per week to the offline series in an effort to get caught up once again. You can find us wherever podcasts are listed, but do keep in mind that Spotify is living up to its name and being spotty with our podcasts; the full set can be found on our website.

Now on to the title topic. The new system replaces our old auto-ban system where extraneous or unusual connection activity would trip a one-and-done ban for offending IP addresses. This worked well enough, but the occasional false positive would come through, and these would require manual intervention to give real listeners access once again.

The new system uses a series of escalating soft bans which will help to inform real listeners that something’s not right with their behavior while being just as effective in reducing load from automated connections. When restrictions occur, messaging is made visible via our website to inform listeners, and a grace period is built in to give listeners additional time to make adjustments and prevent becoming restricted again. We’ve provided a new FAQ webpage to explain this system in more detail, but if you have any additional questions, reach out to our staff and we’ll be happy to help.

That’s all for this week, stay tuned for more music, podcasts, and news, and thanks for listening!
