So far in September, we’ve broadcast our 156th episode of Gensokyo Radio Live, filtered more music into the rotation, and continued to work on Knightune in the background. For more details, read on.

Live #156 brought all of our current staffers together once again for a broadcast which featured our summary of the latest official Touhou game (after giving listeners some extra time to check it out themselves since mentioning it last show), a handful of Steam fan games (after mentioning the indie release drought due to Silksong’s recent release), station news, and more.

Station-side, we’re continuing to work through a re-filtering process which will add more music to the regular rotation over time. Additionally, we have more new music from relatively recent events which will be pushed to the station over the next few weeks. Since we’re officially in Autumn now, there is a cut-off date for new music (October 31st) to allow playback numbers to normalize before the new year and the Top 100 list gets calculated. With that said, we’re always open to suggestions for music, and the last two months of the year are a great time for us to take stock and prepare for next year’s first batch of new music.

Finally, development work on Knightune continues in the background. Public updates on this project will mostly revolve around major milestones and outreach. At this time, we’re continuing to work on key backend systems and adapting our proof-of-concept to real-world systems. We’re also testing higher quality audio rendering after a major platform announced their entry into the lossless audio space. Previously we had capped our lossless quality to be on-par with CD audio, and while we expect that to remain the baseline, we’re experimenting with higher qualities beyond that. We know this is pretty vague, but things are going well overall and we have no major blockers hindering progress, so stay tuned for more updates!

That’s all for this one, we hope you’re enjoying the music updates on the station so far, and thanks for listening!
