Scary monsters, ghouls, and ghosts roam around us this time of year. With Halloween coming up, it seems like a lot of artists are releasing Halloween themed Albums. The latest of which is IOSYS, with their album “Scary Halloween Show.” This albums has a very Halloween-ish feel to it, that put it in my playlists that I will play while children go door to door gathering candy. “Alice’s Mad Tea Party,” a remix of Alice’s “Doll Judgement” and “Doll Maker of Bucharesti” is one of my favorites off the album. The use of the theremin, and the upbeat tempo was very nice. It felt like a cool fusion of “Alice in Wonderland”, and “Nightmare Before Christmas.” It is not just an electro-album, it also has some really good rock tracks, like “Never Ending Halloween Night” which has a heavier feeling then all the other tracks. Overall this album is excellent to have in your CD Changer or Playlist while you pass candy out to children. I, for one, will be keeping the candy to myself and going to hand out bowls of soup instead.
