November Updates & Live #50 Special

Greetings, listeners!

As many of you have already heard, we’re celebrating Live #50 in November by gathering up all of the staff (past and present), doing a bit of digital mingling with our listeners and fans via our partnered Discord server, and taking on your questions for one or all of us. You can submit your own question(s) by clicking here.

Additionally, DMJ654 has put out a challenge, saying that if we reach 120 concurrent listeners during Live #50, he will cut his hair short. For those not in the know, DMJ has hair like some sort of bass guitar player or something. It seems appropriate, sure, but let’s see if we can meet the challenge!

In other news, our server has been fully migrated to our new location in Canada, where we’ll be more apt to party with folks like Epikuro from Kawaii Bass… well, at least in spirit. The new server is bigger, beefier, and able to handle multiple times more concurrent listeners. Want to invite everyone you know to listen to Gensokyo Radio? We can handle it.

With the server change, we’re also pushing updates for the station and website. You may have noticed that the website has changed visually, with the goal of being easier for folks to read on both desktop and mobile devices.

We’ve also added over 800 new songs to the station, including new music from circles we’ve not had in the regular rotation. You’ll be able to find music from Frozen Starfall, J&B, Elemental Records, Mob Squad Tokyo, and others. We still have much more music to filter through, so look forward to similar updates in the coming weeks and months.

Finally, don’t forget about the Live show coming in less than two weeks, and submit your questions before the show starts on Saturday, November 12th, 2016 at 3p PT / 6p PT / 11p UTC.
