It’s a relatively well known fact in the Shoutcast community that the shuffling function that’s built-in to Shoutcast’s server software is pretty lacking. As it turns out, we’ve only been playing about 10% of our playlist over the past month. The reason we didn’t do anything about it before this point is so that we could gather some data on it before making the assumption. I might post about it to some of the people at Shoutcast, to show them just how worthless the built-in shuffle function really is.
We went ahead and fixed that, so you’ll be hearing a larger variety of music coming from us from now on. Enjoy!
